Posted on April 25, 2013 in News

The Women’s Construction Centre (WiCAT) is running a second weekend where you can learn bricklaying skills.

They will be sprucing up a disused yard, and building a low wall to create a garden space and make the car park more accessible. They need help moving some materials around.

Experienced bricklaying tutors will there for guidance, and they can provide gloves and safety boots. Please wear suitable clothing for working outside including stout boots. WiCAT will also provide refreshments and snacks, but please bring a packed lunch.

Dates

Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 July.

Times

There are three sessions each day: 9.30 – 11.30, 12.30 – 2.30 and 3.00 – 5.00, and you can go for any number of sessions.

This is a new collaboration between the Women’s Construction Centre (WiCAT), the Hindu Samaj and the wider community. In addition to having a go at bricklaying and mixing mortar, your volunteering will help WiCAT make a better community garden.

Please let WICAT know if you are coming or ring 0114 272 5360.
