Meet the Women

Thanks to all the women featured in our activity book and site:

Audrey the Engineer

Audrey Chivaura won a bursary from WEST when she was studying engineering at Sheffield College.

She is now at Lancaster University doing an engineering degree in robotics.

Becca the furniture maker

Becca Hopkinson is a talented Sheffield furniture maker who runs Beba Bespoke.

She is also currently working part-time for WICAT as a technician.

Claudia the joiner

Claudia Kuntze is an experienced joiner and builder who is based in Sheffield.

She also works part time for WICAT and helps run the Women's Construction Centre.

Kay the plumber

Kay Eccles is a qualified and experienced plumbing and heating engineer specialising in repairing and servicing boilers and gas appliances. She currently works for British Gas in Sheffield.

Laura the handywoman

Laura Birchenough is a skilled handywoman who runs the Sheffield-based Homeworks home maintenance service.

She is a Director of WICAT and helps run the Women's Construction Centre.

Louise the painter and decorator

Louise Hull-Bailey won a bursary from WEST when she was training to be a painter and decorator at Chesterfield College. She is planning to set up her own decorating business.

Mandy the electrician

Electrician Mandy Reynolds runs the award-winning Sheffield electrical contractor Mand Made.

She is also Chair of WICAT and helps run the Women's Construction Centre.

Suzanne the plasterer

Suzanne Hutt is a long established and skilled self-employed plasterer who works in and around Sheffield.

 

Tracy the bricklayer

Tracy Brindley is an experienced bricklayer who runs her own business T.E. Brindley Conservation and Repair.

She's an active volunteer with WICAT and helps run the Women's Construction Centre in Sheffield.
